Officers from the Fairfax County Police Department were called to Ace Hardware in the 10300 block of Main Street on Nov. 5, where there was a reported larceny involving a group of people.
Upon arrival, they located the suspects in a vehicle not far from the store, prompting a traffic stop; however, when the officer approached the vehicle, police say that the driver intentionally backed into a motor officer assisting with the stop, leaving them with minor injuries before fleeing into Fairfax County.
Police were able to track down the vehicle and five suspects were arrested:
- Ryan Leonard, 32, of Parkville;
- Lyric Bowers, 28, of Halethorpe;
- Breanna Gorman Berg, 19, of Largo, Florida;
- Carroll Hall, 41, of Baltimore;
- Donte Clayton, 34, who has no fixed address.
Leonard was charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance;
- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon;
- Possession of narcotics while possessing a firearm;
- Possession of a stolen firearm;
- Attempted malicious wounding of a law enforcement officer;
- Felony speeding to elude police.
Bowers was charged with grand larceny and served on an outstanding warrant for a probation violation.
The others were charged with grand larceny.
All five were taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where they were held with no bond.
